It is my pleasure to announce that Shane Robinson has joined the Missing Link Team to fill the position of Director of Cyber Security Programs. His first day was February 4th, 2019. He holds and CISSP and a PMP. I will be bringing him with me to meet all of you, on site, over the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, here is a bit of background on what he brings to our team.
Shane has seventeen years’ experience providing information security, enterprise governance, vulnerability management, and regulatory compliance for private sector, government, and military organizations. His most recent position was with NTT Data where he was responsible for managing the enterprise security for federal systems that stored one of the federal government’s largest repositories of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and transferred over $135 billion annually. Previously he was a federal employee, contracting officer representative, and Section 508 Coordinator for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and National Labor Relations Board.
He retired from the United States Coast Guard in 2016 as a Lieutenant Commander after 29 years of active and reserve service. His service included: standing up the USCG’s SIPRNET Management Office, deployable specialized forces for the USCG Deployable Operations Group, N6 Department Heard and crypto manager for the United States Navy Coast Warfare Squadron 26, and Senior Reserve Officer at the USCG National Command Center where he tracked, analyzed and disseminated critical operational and world event information to the Commandant of the Coast Guard, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, and Headquarters Program Managers.
Additional accomplishments include:
· Authored multiple works on computer security and corporate espionage.
· Co-presented a webinar with representatives from NIST and DHS on Advancing the Federal Cybersecurity Workforce.
· Selected as a Dell World 2014 panelist for Disruptive Technologies, participating in an interactive discussion with CEOs, CIOs, and CISOs.
At MLS, Shane will be leveraging his cyber expertise and knowledge to provide corporate cyber reach back for the MLS programs, including overseeing deliverables and proposals, as well as helping with MLS’s Business Development in searching for new cyber security opportunities. In addition, he will work with the teams and customers to identify ways to improve processes, and enhance the security for both systems and their environment.
